Salary Range: $152,501-$256,286

 

Position Summary

The PMO Director is responsible for overseeing and managing multiple projects and initiatives to achieve strategic objectives within YLA.  This position bridges strategic vision and execution by optimizing resources, driving company transformation and ensuring investments align with business priorities to deliver maximum business value.  The PMO Director ensures that the work of the PMO adds value, is relevant to the strategy of the organization, and meets the goals set for the PMO by executive management

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a portfolio(s) of projects and initiatives ensuring alignment with strategy and enabling maximum delivery of value and benefits.
  • Serve as the primary liaison and communicator for key executive sponsors and stakeholders. Reports on the performance of initiatives within the portfolio and takes responsibility for the outcomes — not just the implementation — of the portfolio.
  • Take responsibility for the day-to-day management of the project portfolio. Determine the portfolio's short — and long-term roadmaps with owners and business leaders and adjust as priorities change.
  • Identify and manage risks that may impact the portfolio and develop corresponding mitigation strategies.
  • Oversee the implementation of different methodologies and frameworks within the portfolio.
  • Collaborate across BU and BP functions (notably, IT) to monitor dependencies and provide centralized visibility across initiatives.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to fellow colleagues and team members, champion change and identify opportunities for efficiency gains and innovation.
  • Project ownership of selective smaller cross-functional projects, as assigned by Management.
  • Ability to travel internationally and domestic up to 20% (primarily domestic) as well as work a Hybrid Schedule as required by company policy. 

Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree in business administration or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Over 6 years of experience in Project Management with increasing leadership responsibilities across major projects and programs.
  • Ten years of experience in Logistics.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing upward among senior leadership.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading diverse teams.
  • Exceptional leadership skills, with the ability to develop and communicate the portfolio objectives, inspire and motivate diverse team members and maintain alignment with business strategy.
  • Strong understanding of project management and certifications.
  • A high degree of political sensitivity, astuteness and the ability to use the informal power structure of the organization to overcome obstacles and achieve portfolio success.
  • Strong strategic thinking, organizational, analytical and problem-solving abilities, particularly in complex technical environments, with keen attention to detail.
  • Strong business acumen, including industry — and domain-specific knowledge of the organization and its business units. Familiarity with industry trends and innovation, and how other organizations use them to drive digital business.
  • Ability to adapt to new circumstances and changing business environments.
  • Demonstrated experience facilitating meetings with senior stakeholders, particularly cross-functional portfolio steering or investment committees.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with a proven ability to influence and build consensus among diverse technical and business stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with project, program, and portfolio management tools.

 

Working Conditions

  • Work is primarily performed in an office environment with moderate noise levels (phones, printers, conversations). 
  • Involves prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and frequent use of computers and office equipment. 
  • Regular use of hands and fingers, including, but not limited to, typing, filing, frequent keyboarding, mouse clicking and handling documents. 
  • Occasional lifting or moving of office supplies or equipment up to 25 pounds. 
  • Requires strong analytical, decision-making, and critical-thinking skills. 
  • Must be able to read, interpret, and compose clear written and verbal communications. 
  • Visual acuity required for tasks including, but not limited to, computer work, document review, and data analysis. 
  • Must maintain strong organizational skills, confidentiality, and independent work habits. 
  • Adaptability to changing priorities and effective professional communication with colleagues and customers. 
  • Regular, punctual attendance and compliance with all company policies and procedures; occasional overtime may be required. 
  • On-Site Requirements: In-office presence required for meetings, team events and scheduled days.  
  • Must be able to work as part of a functional team including working in an office on a Hybrid Schedule as required by company policy
