Overview

This position is within our NYK Group Americas Inc. (NGA) company.

Must have the ability to commute to our office in Secaucus, New Jersey.

Position Summary:

The purpose of this position is to manage the day to day activities, coordination, and analysis of various RoRo Trades Lanes ex US and other regions such as South America, Middle East, and Asia destinations.  Provide guidance to various teams to ensure full vessel utilization maximizing profitability

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

  • Create Monthly Vessel schedules basis approved tonnage
  • Collect and approve final load lists upon vessel sailings
  • Create/Update voyage calculator to be used for P/L reporting
  • Maintain Trade Database to include all exported volumes by lane
  • Customer and Space Charter Freight Invoice Issuance and Settlement
  • Market monitoring and analysis
  • Coordinate vessel space based on contractual commitments, forecasts, and liaise with Operations regarding vessel stow.
  • Communicate available vessel space & vessel closures with Sales & Customer Service team
  • Assist in managing/reviewing upcoming contracts
  • Run various reports, statistics and analysis
  • Troubleshoot any unexpected issues or problems that may arise
  • Work with all departments for continuous improvement and business development ideas
  • Apply “Innovation Value” by striving for continuous improvement.

Demonstrate effective "Innovation Value" by benchmarking and incorporated change for positive results.  Develop new liner business in line with existing and new service deployments and create process to manage pipeline of new business development and diversification.

Qualifications

Slills and Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 to 3 years’ experience in maritime industry with strong emphasis on Trade and Cargo Space coordination.
  • Experience may be substituted based on level of education in a maritime related degree
  • Exposure to US Regulatory systems as it relates to shipping field is helpful
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy are essential.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize work flow.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Able to work in a team environment.
  • Computer proficiency In Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point)
  • Demonstrate effective “Integrity Value” by consistently acting courteously with customers, co-workers and vendors.
  • Regularly attend meetings in-office and virtually as required.

Demonstrate “Intensity Value” by working diligently and effectively with fellow team members.

 

EDUCATION:

Bachelor's degree required or currently enrolled and attending in pursuit of degree at time of bid

 

WORK EXPERIENCE:

3+ years of relevant experience
