Overview

This position is within our NYK Group Americas Inc. company. (NGA)

Must have the ability to commute to our office in Secaucus, New Jersey.

The purpose of this position is to manage the day-to-day operations and performance of various Trade lanes ex US in line with NYK general policy set by upper management. Additionally, to the daily management tasks will be responsible to oversee staff executing such policies. This position is also responsible for promoting new initiatives to upper management and Tokyo to improve and/or change the service pattern for the benefit of NYK and our customers. 

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

This position encompasses the overall coordination of NYK Regional offices / agents in North and South America, daily liaison with NYK London, Mexico, Brazil, and Tokyo

  • Manage a team of analysts to ensure trade-lane performance and growth
  • Continuous Development of staff capability
  • Trade Development planning
  • Making Monthly Management Report
  • Voyage Calculation
  • Updating Long Term Schedule & Analysis of Market / Competition
  • Daily Management of Schedule
  • Space Allocation
  • Review & Approve Invoices from Various Space Charters
  • Communication with Various Lines on Slot Charter Contract
  • Communication with Sales, Customer Service, and local agents for problem solving
  • Customer Inquiries / Complaints
  • Coordinate budget initiatives with Atlantic Roro
  • Maintenance of Existing Contracts

Qualifications

SKILLS:  (Computer training, quality training, special programs):

  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong Computer skills in Word, Excel.
  • Ability and willingness to work outside of normal hours basis vessel movement.
  • Work well internally and externally, including colleagues, customers, and vendors

REQUIREMENTS:

  •  The employee is primarily located in the Office. However, outside  Sales calls, attendance at vessel may be required.

  • Regularly attend In-Office and Virtual meetings.

WORK EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum 10 years experience in steamship and intermodal operations.
  • Minimum 5 years experience in a supervisor or management position.

PREFERRED EDUCATION:

Bachelor's degree required or currently enrolled and attending in pursuit of degree at time of bid
