Overview

As a Product Development Manager at Yusen Logistics, you will be part of the product development team focused on Yusen’s Digital Experience Initiative. As part of this role you will create a clear strategic technical direction that will be delivered by the product development team. Within the designated enterprise product line you will work closely with teams of developers, designers, and business partners to determine what the customer and partners wants and design a product that meets that need. The roles priority is seamless integration and alignment of perspectives from a broad set of stakeholders including but not limited to: Customers, Process Owners, Enterprise Architects, Application Managers, Development teams and Technical Architects. Responsibilities

  • Works closely with leadership to develop multi-year, multi-generation roadmaps both at the product and integrated product / portfolio level, then plans and manages milestones, and roles and responsibilities to ensure success for customer.
  • As part of the leadership team, you will be responsible for building a top-notch enterprise-level product team that is fully integrated into the overall development process.
  • Works with cross-functional teams to deliver features and products.
  • Shows increasing understanding of the technology stack and its impact on the final product.
  • Represent the team in strategic and problem-solving discussions with business stakeholders to ensure compliant, stable, and optimized business processes are supported by best-in-class technology.
  • Oversee the engagement to ensure architectures are implemented, assuming accountability for on-time, on-budget, on-quality delivery
  • A thorough understanding of cloud-native architectures, container orchestration, microservices and operational best practices in the cloud.
  • Design and build function-centric solutions in the context of transition from traditional, legacy platforms to microservices architectures, micro front end services
  • Define and refactor multi-channel client architecture offering and providing differentiated end-user experiences by leveraging containerization and cloud technology
  • Outline the governance and microservices development guiding principles as well as ensuring the best practices are followed by the development team
  • Govern DevOps methodologies, ensure all solutions exhibit high levels of performance, security, scalability, maintainability, and appropriate reusability and reliability upon deployment
  • Remains abreast of industry technical trends and new development to maintain current skills and remain current with industry standards.

Qualifications

  • 6+ years managing technical staff including 2+ years leading a software development team.
  • 4+ years of programming experience in custom software analysis, design and development
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or equivalent education and work experience is required.
  • 2+ years experience managing 3rd party consultants and/or offshore team
  • Solid track record of enterprise IT experience or substantial professional services experience collaborating with stakeholders to deliver cloud solutions
  • Thorough enterprise software development experience with languages such as Java, Python, .Net
  • Thorough enterprise software development experience with Javascript frameworks such as Angular Typescript.
  • Experience with deploying to cloud-based environments
    • Strong understanding of Cloud concepts such as IAM, networking (shared VPC’s), running VM, Container and/or serverless based workloads in the cloud
    • Hands on expertise with container platforms and evangelizing cloud-native architectures
    • Experience with containerization and virtualization platforms, as well as container orchestration platforms like Kubernetes
  • Strong architectural knowledge of cloud infrastructure and large distributed cloud environments
    • Strong working knowledge and experience architecting large-scale, secure, performant and high availability solutions in any public cloud environment
    • Experience with microservices architectures
    • Experience with both SQL & NoSQL databases
    • Knowledge of backup & recovery procedures and technologies, data storage and retention requirements
  • Knowledge with cloud automation tools, frameworks & workflows
    • Experience in automation through DevSecOps in Cloud environments and familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Git, Azure DevOps, SonarQube, Terraform, Ansible.
    • Experience building and packaging docker images and containers using Helm
  • Familiarity with Agile, Lean, Scrum and Kanban Methodologies
  • Knowledgeable on technical data analysis, software configuration and software testing.
  • Experienced with technical troubleshooting and problem solving.
  • Advanced interpersonal, business communication, and writing skills.
  • Complex thinking, analysis, and decision making skills.
  • Able to work within a fast-paced environment with quickly changing priorities.
  • Must be well organized and able to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Self-starter who takes initiative and can work with minimal supervision.
