Overview

Salary Range: $90,910-$155,368

 

Position Summary

 

Governance programs including but not limited to Compliance, Regulatory and Quality- all which are aligned with Yusen’s business strategy. The Manager needs to possess patience and agility to adjust to a dynamic and growing business environment, while continuously improving the program.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support, improve and develop new and existing Quality & Governance compliance strategies and procedures. Implement procedures, processes, training and systems to support the strategies where needed.
  • Ensure adherence through the direct monitoring of Quality & Governance programs related to business ethics and regulatory compliance, including, but not limited to export compliance, TSA compliance, and TAPA certification.
  • Manage and provide direction for Quality & Governance programs which may include but are not limited to business ethics, quality management systems and regulatory programs.
  • Keep informed and advance reporting tools related to industry risks, changes, trends, and best practices and assess the potential impact of these changes on organizational processes.
  • Develop and conduct risk-based audit programs related to Quality & Governance programs.
  • Manage and maintain Quality & Governance dashboards, databases and communication sites.
  • Maintain, support and monitor YLA’s CAPA program.
  • Advance and support innovations within the Quality & Governance programs by introducing and maintaining new technology and improvements.
  • Participate in the design, implementation and administration of applicable trainings including but not limited to risk management and various Quality & Governance related topics.
  • Assist in ISO, YES and GDP compliance tasks and projects which include, but are not limited to, ensuring the compliance of quality standards, auditing, reporting, process flow analysis and procedural documentation.
  • Deliver and maintain standards, procedures, toolkits and training to support Quality and Governance programs within the company.
  • Attend conferences, meetings, trainings and workshops to maintain and enhance current knowledge of Quality & Governance methods and procedures or to maintain required level of certification.
  • Manage relationships with third party service providers including pricing, billing, onboarding and project support related to Quality & Governance.

 

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A minimum of seven (5+) years’ experience working in business operations and hands on experience in developing and implementing business process improvement program.
  • Customs Brokerage valid license holder preferred but not required.
  • Prior experience in the logistics supply chain, freight forwarding, warehousing, trans-loading business is required.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret Quality & Governance requirements and apply business knowledge to develop appropriate compliance actions.
  • Prior experience with Government related systems including but not limited to the Automated Commercial Environment (ACE), Indirect Air Carrier Management Systems (IACMS), Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (C-TPAT), Known Shipper Management System (KSMS).
  • Creative and innovative thinker with an ability to translate complex ideas and metrics into simple, actionable recommendations.
  • Exceptional documentation skills and attention to detail.
  • High communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate in written and verbal form – with a wide variety of individuals from front line employees to senior executives.
  • Demonstrated skills in managing people and projects.
  • Strong analytical, logical and problem-solving skills.
  • Innate interest in and desire for continuous learning and personal development.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft office, especially Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and SharePoint.

Essential Job Functions

  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
  • Travel both domestically and internationally as required.
  • Work cooperatively with others.
  • Interact with employees and customers in an appropriate manner.
  • Use a computer for tasks such as, but not limited to, communicating via email, preparing reports, creating procedures and manuals as related to Legal, Quality & Governance.
  • Review and analyze data and information concerning Legal, Quality & Governance to identify trends to be escalated to Senior Management.
  • Plan, prioritize and monitor Legal, Quality & Governance activities and procedures as required.
  • Complete (or oversee the completion of) assigned tasks/projects in a timely manner.
  • Comply with all Company policies and procedures.
